Question 1

Can a safari minivan handle rainy conditions in Masai Mara?

Accepted Answer

Minivans struggle significantly on unpaved Mara tracks during or following rain due to their low ground clearance and limited traction on slippery black cotton mud. A custom 4x4 Land Cruiser with high ground clearance and differential locks is strongly recommended to avoid becoming stuck.

Question 2

Are all Land Cruisers open-sided, or do they have windows?

Accepted Answer

In Kenya, safari Land Cruisers used for overland transfers and national reserve game drives are typically closed-cabin vehicles equipped with large sliding windows and pop-up roofs. In private conservancies, some luxury camps operate fully open-sided 4x4 vehicles for maximum airflow and photographic immersion.

Question 3

Do safari Land Cruisers provide charging outlets for cameras and phones?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Custom safari Land Cruisers are equipped with electrical power inverters that provide standard three-pin UK plugs (Type G) and USB ports, allowing guests to recharge camera batteries, mobile devices, and power banks while driving.
