Question 1

Do I need a visa to travel to Kenya for a Masai Mara safari?

Accepted Answer

Kenya has replaced traditional visas with the Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) system. All foreign travelers, including infants and children, must apply online for an approved Kenya eTA at least three days prior to departure through the official government portal.

Question 2

What camera equipment is recommended for a wildlife safari in Masai Mara?

Accepted Answer

A DSLR or mirrorless camera paired with a versatile telephoto zoom lens (such as a 100-400mm or 70-200mm with a teleconverter) offers an ideal balance of range and flexibility. Fast memory cards, extra camera batteries, and lens cleaning equipment are essential due to savanna dust.

Question 3

Is tap water safe to drink at safari camps in Masai Mara?

Accepted Answer

Camps provide reverse-osmosis purified water or bottled mineral water for drinking and brushing teeth. Avoid drinking untreated tap water, and make use of the camp-provided water stations and reusable aluminum bottles.
